Lynne Doyle Named 2016 Rotarian of the Year

A hard-working Rotarian was celebrated for a year of her efforts at the Rotary Club of Huntsville-Lake of Bays' year-end potluck on June 26.

Rotarian Jim, membership chair, presented Rotarian Lynne with the club's coveted Rotarian of the Year Award for 2016. The presentation took place at Lynne's lakeside cottage, which she, in true selfless fashion, had offered to the club for its year-end celebration. And who better to present the award than her proud husband.

The afternoon included fellowship, a boat cruise, a few beverages and some incredible potluck food, including Lynne's now-famous pulled pork, Geno's delicious coleslaw and Lorraine's outstanding banana split pie. Lorraine, we need that recipe. For real.

Two Paul Harris Fellows were also announced at the party, but more on that in future stories.

The club's new 2016-2017 Rotary year starts on Thursday, July 7.
