Helping kids is a big part of what we do and kick-starting learning by supporting the Huntsville High School breakfast program is one way we make it happen.

HHS teacher Steven Spiers joined us in March to share a bit about the program, which the club has supported for several years, whether through monetary donations or hands-on volunteering. He said roughly 70 to 100 students benefit from the program daily by picking up a nutritious food item from a buffet-style station on their way to class.

While the program helps low-income kids who might not otherwise eat, it is also open to early morning athletes, kids with long morning bus rides, faculty members and more, which help reduce the stigma of the program.

Rotarian Cara, our youth service chair, then presented Steven with a $1,000 cheque in support of the program's ongoing efforts.
