President-elect Cara (right) thanks Jeff Osler, case manager for community engagement and social enterprise at the District of Muskoka, for sharing information with the club about the regional government's community services department SEED (socialize, engage, educate and develop) program. What's a SEED program?

Socialize, engage, educate, develop

Jeff said the program creates free opportunities for people to connect with inclusive, engaging, hands-on and informative activities, such as cooking classes, archery workshops, craft sessions and more.
Not only do the programs help build community, reduce isolation and encourage people to try something new, but they also aim to help people feel more comfortable in reaching out for help, if they need it.
He added that everyone was welcome to the programs, including an upcoming free four-week Community 101: Health and Wellness Series held Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m., starting Nov. 8, at the Active Living Centre, 7 Camp Kitchen Rd., Huntsville, featuring non-impact aerobics, essential oils, art for the soul, and singing bowls meditation.
