Gord Durnan, vice-chair and founding director for Muskoka Community Foundation, joined us in March to share the foundation's story of philanthropy in Muskoka and building a smart and caring community.

Gord spoke about the power of endowment funds to direct donations to the areas most in need, which included a number of charitable causes in our region. He emphasized the importance of collaboration for a brighter tomorrow.

The organization is a registered charity founded in 2007. The volunteer-based foundation has donated more than $148,600 to causes, including charities and scholarships.
