Rotarian Brandy was on the ground in Nepal when the country was hit by a deadly earthquake in 2015. How did the humanitarian respond?

International Service Project in Nepal

Brandy, a member of the Rotary Club of Huntsville and assistant district governor for Rotary District 7010, along with her fellow Rotarian and spouse, Dave, arranged a humanitarian excursion to Nepal in 2019 to help refurbish and restock several schools in Nepal destroyed by the natural disaster.

Brandy told Rotary Club of North Muskoka members that the project happened in collaboration with Rotarians in Nepal. The project served schools in rural and remote parts of the country and aimed to get children back into class.

Rotary Club of North Muskoka members provided a donation in support of the project, as support for at risk youth, as well as youth education and leadership, are a focus of our club. This donation happened in addition to several youth-focused projected supported locally. Why do Rotarians work both at home and abroad? It's all in the name of peace building.
