Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions Kids to Camp Program
The Rotary Club of North Muskoka has partnered with Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions for roughly six years to help send Muskoka children served by the agency to summer camps.
Melanie said the agency, along with partnering camps, helped send 365 children to day camps or overnight camps in 2018. Thirty-five of those children were from Muskoka, and she told us our club's donation to the program sponsored half of those Muskoka children and teens!
But demand always outpaced funding.
The camp program, she said, helps kids gain positive memories, build confidence, create friendships, learn skills and in many cases connect youth to essential programs following life trauma.
