What has potato and cheese and helps raise funds for hungry kids in Huntsville and Lake of Bays? Rotary perogies! It's the second year for the Rotary Club of Huntsville-Lake of Bays' homemade perogie fundraiser and once again the creation process included a lot of laughs, wine and, of course, work. Read more to find out how to get your hands on some of these delicious cheesy potato wheat pockets.

Our club members were busy making dough and filling from scratch at the Table Community Kitchen in Huntsville on April 22 and 23.
Perogies are $8 per dozen, $15 per two dozen, $20 per three dozen. Funds raised support our community projects, including the Helping Hungry Students program at Huntsville high School.
The process included rolling cheese and potato into balls, and then forming it into the centre of a handmade dough circle before sealing the edges and freezing the perogies for storage and distribution.
It takes a lot of hands to make this project a success. These photos are from the Sunday afternoon crew on April 23.
There were three other shifts for the first weekend of this year's fundraiser.
Hundreds of dozens of perogies were made under the supervision of our resident Ukrainian member and our professional Restauranteur.
